Just bits and bobs of stuff I've enjoyed and despised over the year. Just put the kettle on, make a brew, and sit back :)

Artist of the year:

Andy Stott.

Two EP's, or count both as one LP like I do, of amazing dark techno music that caused quite a stir on forums and Electronic music sites across the internet. Throw in the fact that this guy was completely new to me this year, and he's quickly become one of my favourite artist in general.

Song of the year:

Glass Jar - Gang Gang Dance

An 11 minute behemoth that could have easily kept going for much longer. The slow build up and eventual burst of joyous synth giddiness is something I never grow tired of. This track is not for everyone, but I eventually found myself listening to this all the time when in need of a little pick me up.

Video Game of the year:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I've only played this for about 15 hours because my PS3 is at home and not at uni, but those 15 hours have been glorious, and I've barely dented the surface of this game.

EP of the year:

Bricolage - Mike Dehnert

A Techno masterpiece. He's been on fire this year.

Gig of the year:

The Joy Formidable, And So I Watch You From Afar & Creatures of Love at Manchester Academy

A perfect gig. Support acts were all great, but the main star was Ritzy Bryan. She can command the audience by just standing there.

What I want for 2012:

End of Everything Party organised by me for December 21st 2012 - Bring everything and anything you want. If the world ends, great! If it doesn't, we'll have an awesome party to remember.
