Origin of Symmetry - cheers!

So this Friday I'm off to Leeds to watch some bands and artists that take my interest. When I initially bought my ticket, the main attraction was Death From Above 1979, who play a handful of gigs around the country before (hopefully?) releasing a new album soon.

They were the main attraction. Right now that focus has shifted to Friday night's headliners Muse, who are a good live band, but over the last few years I've simply just...grown a bit tired of their stuff. I'm not a fan of The Resistance at all, and Neutron Star Collision...yeah, no thanks.

However, this time around it's a little different. Origin of Symmetry - their 2nd album - is 10 this year, and it continues to be one of my favourite albums to this day. The band have decided to play the whole album in full to celebrate its birthday, and personally speaking, it'll be a great way to see Muse for perhaps the final time, or the final time in the near future anyway. With Uni coming up, I doubt I'll be able to afford future gigs, and even if the future material is good, work + money = less live music, which isn't the best thing in the world, but I'll have to limit my music expenditure!

What I will take from the Muse gigs are the numerous amount of fan meet-ups and banter, many of whom I've become great friends with, and for that reason alone, I'll always have something to thank the band for.
Whether it's trodding in the mud at V Festival in 2008, bragging about seeing Space Dementia and Dead Star live, or collapsing at Manchester last year during Feeling Good (serves me right for only eating muffins all day) great memories I'll always remember.

We'll see what I'll do to celebrate at Leeds, probably bring a vinyard with me...

Cheers, Muse!
